California Here We Come!
I don’t know what it is about Los Angeles but it’s always had a magical draw for me. Well, I’m off … to LA, Hollywood even … and very excited.
You see, Eddie Bruce, the wonderful singer I manage and we publicize, decided he was ready for an LA Debut so I was lucky to book him in the M Bar in Hollywood. He performs there Thursday (July 21) and Friday (July 22.) He’s doing his very successful show “Bruce on Bennett,” which is always a hit. In fact, one critic called it a “triumph!” Pretty cool.
It’s always scary performing in a new city, without friends, family and fans in your “back pocket,” so we’ve contacted as many people as we knew out there, hoping they might be interested. A big bonus is that Tom Adams, Eddie’s music director and pianist, lived there for 20 years and has lots of friends excited to see him. One, in fact, is Cybill Sheperd! How cool is that!
Anyway, I’m making the most of this experience and meeting one of my closest friends, Jayne Zeldin, out there for a few days for “girls’ fun!” I’m seeing old friends, my cousin and someone I hope becomes a new friend, who goes by the name of Didi Pop, a fabulous children’s performing artist.
