Moderated Panel on
“Electric Cars and Their Infrastructure”
Philadelphia, PA (February 2, 2012) – Brenda Hustis Gotanda, chair of the Radnor Township Environmental Advisory Council, (EAC) and a partner with the environmental and energy law firm of Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP (MGKF), moderated a panel discussion on “Electric Cars and Their Infrastructure: How’s This All Going to Work?”. The program took place on January 26, 2012 and was part of the Radnor Sustainability Series. It offered attendees the opportunity to test drive an electric car and to learn from a panel of experts about how the cars work and how they are charged. They discussed challenges and opportunities within the electric grid and their integration into broader sustainability programs.
Also highlighted at the program were the two public electric vehicle charging stations recently installed in Radnor Township, the first ones on the Main Line, which are part of a pilot project led by Community Energy and supported with grant funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Program speakers included Jay Carlis of Community Energy, Scott Baker of PJM Interconnection, Brad Molotsky of Brandywine Realty Trust, and Amy Ercolani of Thomas Chevrolet. The program, held at the Radnor Township Municipal Building, was co-sponsored by the Radnor EAC, the Radnor Conservancy, and the Radnor League of Women Voters.
“I’m very proud of Radnor’s continued leadership on environmental and sustainability issues and hope that we can inspire others to follow suit,” said Gotanda. She helped to spearhead the launch of the Sustainability Series three years ago, and continues to bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to Series program planning. “Through the Sustainability Series, we offer Radnor and the region an excellent series of programs and workshops to explain new sustainability concepts and to demonstrate more sustainable approaches to the everyday operation of business, government, and households.”
